Hygiene is a very demanding market, in terms of both technical performance and cost requirements. We are able to offer solutions for most non-woven requirements for hygiene applications.  The three most significant product categories for the hygiene market are Spunbond / Meltblown composites (SMS or SMMS), hydrophilic spunbond, and hydrophobic spunbond.

 

 

SM(M)S   Basically a barrier fabric, which will resist passage of fluids, but is air permeable. Used for leg-cuffs in baby diapers, and for backsheet lamination.

 

Hydrophilic spunbond:    Fluid will pass through readily, with no return.  Used as topsheet for baby diapers.

 

Hydrophobic spunbond:   Good tensile strength.  Used for backsheet lamination for baby diapers.  An economic alternative to SMS materials.

 

 

 

Other materials for hygiene:  We have the flexibility to manufacture materials to customers specific requirements and we have technical resources required to develop new materials.

Material is produced at 3.2 or 4.2 metres wide, (depending on production line) , and is subsequently slit and re-wound into roll dimensions as per customer requirements. Finished rolls are combined into multi-roll packs, wrapped in P E stretch film.  Supply can be on pallets, or without pallets, depending on customer preference.  We have the special equipment required for handling non-palletised packs, without damaging the material.
