SGN products are based on spunbond technology, and meltblown technology in conjunction with spunbond.

 

Spunbond: Web of virtually continuous filaments,  1.1 – 3.5 Decitex (18 – 40

                     microns diameter approx.,  random laid, thermal bonded.

 

Meltblown: Short fibers, not continuous, typically 4 microns diameter.

 

Materials incorporating spunbond and meltblown technology comprise of a laminate – outer layers spunbond, and inner layer of meltblown.  Spunbond provides tensile strength, and meltblown provides resistance to passage of fluids, but is air permeable.
